I acquired this bottle a few years ago at an antique store for a couple bucks and wandering if it's worth anything. It's a full unopened bottle of Fritzsche Brothers Oil of Sandalwood. Bottle has the number 423412414 on it. What year is it from??

Didn`t know there were collectors of these old oils but read this!! Some old oils are upwards of $100. !! Sounds like sandalwood oil may be more than that because of some disease of the sandalwood trees !! I would do more research on todays prices !!

Ok great thank you. Can't find too much online about worth.

This is for a bottle less than half full,,not sure how big your bottle is and there are watchers and people asking questions at that price !! Amazing !! Does your bottle tell how many ounces ?? Is it sealed ?? You may have a small gold mine !! I would watch this sale if I were you !!
-
Holy $&)%%&$)(*@)$%@@!!!!!!
I would never have believed it. There's always something "new" in the antique world!!
-
WOW! it doesnt say how many ounces but it's approximately 5 ounces. It weighs 10 ounces. It is sealed, with the silver pull seal and cork. All very interesting.

Whoa! Learn something new everyday!

Your bottle looks to be a different style than the one on ebay. Problem with ebay is that is not a realistic price. You can ask whatever you want on ebay but that is way overpriced for that bottle and yours is different style. That's not what that user is getting for that price it's just an asking price. Realistic value is around 2 to 300 dollars. Didn't want to get your hopes up there
-
Also since you aquired this from an antique store 99.9 percent they know the value of the items before selling them. Also the reasons why there watchers is because other people want to see if that item will sell for that much but I guarantee to you it will not. I deal with ebay and there are a lot of sellers who way overpriced items on there. Your best bet it to ask someone who deals with these bottles to get an accurate value. Just don't expect it to be what you saw on ebay.

lol, 5k for a half bottle of oil? What are you guys smoking over here? On Amazon it's about 10 bucks for a small bottle of this oil

Its not the bottle they want its the vintage sandalwood oil that is used for making some expensive perfumes !! Sandalwood was Cleopatra`s favorite !!
-
His is in nicer condition but... this what they are realisticly sell for

It's nice to have dreamers who think they can get that much for 1/2 a bottle! :)
-
Yes, but remember this is ebay and mob mentality applies !! When one starts asking questions others start to think that it may be a bargain at that price !! And it only takes one bid,, even if the price is high !!
-
I would be willing to bet a good amount that the 5k bottle of oil on ebay does not sell today, tomorrow or ever.
-
Probably not but some are at least thinking about it !!

S. album is a threatened species indigenous to South India, and grows in the Western Ghats and a few other mountain ranges such as the Kalrayan and Shevaroy Hills. Although sandalwood trees in India, Pakistan, and Nepal are government-owned and their harvest is controlled, many trees are illegally cut down. Sandalwood oil prices have risen to $2,000 per kg recently. Sandalwood from the Mysore region of Karnataka (formerly Mysore), and marayoor forest in Kerala, southern India, is high in quality. New plantations were created with international aid in Tamil Nadu for economic exploitation. In Kununurra in Western Australia, Indian sandalwood is grown on a large scale.
Copied this info !!
-
That may be however, on that Amazon link, 5 or 6 down is sandalwood oil from Mysore for $39.99 a bottle
OOPS! UPDATE!! It's $49.99 per 10 ml bottle
