Title: English oak dressing table age?
Post by: chloea on December 19, 2015, 03:58:19 PM
Hi,

Thanks for all your help so far, I really appreciate it.

Can anyone please give me an approximate age of this oak dresser? Or any other info that you might know?

Thanks,

Chloe

Hmmm, looks like a mixture of Nouveau, Craftsman, and a bit of late Victorian thrown in. I'd date it to about the same time as your bed, i.e. 1910-15 or so.

Any markings on the back ?

And are they locks on the drawers ? If so, are they marked ( you'll need to open a drawer to see )

I would say early 1900's as well.

Would love to see the hardware also.

AND....are you allowed to stand on the bed like that?  (Your reflection in the mirror!)  😱  😮  LOL

Hahaha they are jeanswest! Sooo hard to get photos in that room, it is really small and quite dark as it is an "old" house (which in NZ is only around 100 years old) :P
Thanks for all your help, now to find a buyer!

Any markings on the back or locks ?

Might be Shapland & Petter, might be Scottish.
