Title: Drafting tool....what is this? Age? Value?

Think this was my Dad's.  He was in sheet metal and layout & design.  Any value in it?  Age?

Hi Mart,

No Markings at all.  I even took the lens out to see if it had markings.

My question is, …. is it made for one to “look thru” the optics (like a microscope)?

If so, then it might be for viewing high resolution photographs (aka: for military purposes)

It might be the lens for an optical comparator. Is the grid reticule removable when you take the lens off?
