Title: help to id this mark on a old korean vase

any idea of age ? the marks on bottem cant find. glazing is a poor job , has bad spots and age cracks

I  think yourCeladon  vase is not old, it is made in an old technique that was, as I understand, revived after the Korean war, so it is not older than the 2nd half of the 20thcentury. Mat

Hi there and welcome to the forum !!  Is the figure I see the only one on it ??  How big is the vase ??

Just to explain why I think it is not antique: While the new pieces are usually marked, the antique ones are not. Also the human figure would not appear on antique pieces. The bottom looks new, too.

I have to agree with Mat about the marking of the Celadon piece is characteristic of modern pieces in addition to the bottom being glazed.  However, Mart, human form was seen on pieces from the Song Dynasty.

You have a beautiful piece there.  I purchased several pieces when I was in S. Korea many, many years ago.  They are beautiful pieces to be cherished.  The modern pieces are well made and very symmetrical - whereas the very old pieces reflect imperfections and distortions being handmade.
