Someone marked LCT the bottom but it is not tiffany maybe imperial glass?
-
And how have you determined that it is not Tiffany ?? Did you have someone look at it ?? Did they offer to buy it ?? It is not Imperial !!
-
The LCT should go counter clockwise not clockwise like this one.

Louis Comfort Tiffany used so many signatures that it is impossible to determine what is real Tiffany and what is not from that alone !! Most of the authorities do not go by signature only and even they say that there are variations !! The color, the form, the decorative aspect all must be in line with Tiffany Studios !! I would suggest having it checked by one of the auctions that know his glass well !! Where did you get this vase ??
-
I bought this vase from a auction in pa.
-
What did the auction say it was?
PeLady
-
They really didn't say anything about it, it was a table tray lot.
-
Steuben, Loetz and others made similar art glass and they sell on the same level with Tiffany !! Yes there are fakes but unless you know art glass well I would not trust just anyone to tell which is which !! If it were mine I would get it checked by authorities of Tiffany and other high end art glass !!
-
Do you know any good appraisers that are experts in this type of glass?
-
You are in PA ??
-
Yes

I hope this is the right page,,was reading the FAQ`s too !! Just send pics,, really good ones by email per their instructions !! You are thinking of selling the vase aren`t you ?? Its a free service so even if its a fake,,costs nothing to find out for sure !! I would get another opinion as well !! I will keep looking !!
-
Yes I would like too, hopefully it is real, if I get any information from them I will comment on here to tell you thank you so much for your help!
-
Yes,, Please post back here the results !! No way we could tell what it is from pics,, you need someone that knows more than I do about Tiffany glass !! Will cross my fingers for you !!
-
I sent it to them but I have to wait 4 to 6 weeks so then I'll post on here in between there time frame
-
Hopefully it will be worth the wait !!

This is what they said, Thank you for contacting Christie's regarding the possible sale of your property. Our specialists have carefully reviewed the information you kindly sent to us and have requested that I share with you their response. Unfortunately, based on the information provided, your property does not appear to fall into a property category or value level that Christie's currently handles for sale. For that reason, our specialists are not able to suggest an estimate or provide other information.
We recognize that this may be disappointing news, and although we cannot be of assistance at this time, we hope that we may be of service to you in the future.
-
yeah, what that means is, it's not worth $5000. or more which is their minimum value for a single object.
-
It's disappointing that they can't tell if its fake or real
-
Well, i would say an auction house like Christie or Sotheby is the wrong place to inquire, they are interested in the top 10% of the market only. At least you know they do not think it is in that group of objects so inquiry wasn't a total bust, you did learn something.
-
Well,, that doesn`t help !! At least we know it isn`t in the $5000. category !!
-
Agreed, Christie went with the 5k minimum for a single object quite awhile ago, maybe 10 years ago or so? That does not mean when they sell an entire collection every object will be 5k and up, it won't be but, for a single object it's gotta be worth their time or they are just not interested.
