Have you looked at the silver closely for a mark ??  Appears to be an underplate but to what I have no clue !!

Do you have a bottle of wine?  Sit the bottle in it and see if it fits.  Reminds me of a Wine or Champagne bottle coaster!

They come in all variations of crystal, glass, crystal with silver, glass with silver, wooden, etc.  Most I have seen are silver with wood bottoms or cork.  Let us know!
