A customer brought in this T340 crawler and it was in pieces. I have it back together and noticed the hydraulics run off the fluid in the transmission.
My question is, does this transmission take gear oil or hydraulic oil?
I'm thinking it should be Hydraulic but.....
Thanks for any and all replies!

In some things they can be interchanged but I think it depends on what year model your crawler is !! I would suggest going to www.smokstack.com and asking the guys there !! Thats where I go for Farmall problems !! They are very helpful and know their stuff !!

Stop by the CIH dealer in your area and pick up a few gallons (10-12??) of HY-TRAN, along with a new filter. (I think that transmission has about 2 or 3 drain plugs to get all of the old fluid out.) Good luck with your project.
