Hi Everyone.
Table with Elephant heads and Ivory Tusk Eyes (has anyone ever seen this???)
Just wondering if anyone has ever seen a table like this and if it is a known antique or a one-of-a-kind handmade table from overseas. A friend of mine had it for over 20 years and she mentioned that she got it from her grandmother's house in New York. The only thing she is aware of is that it came from a military family member and has been in their possession since early 1900s. The table is available for more pictures but we wanted any info from the public. I appreciate any comments you professionals may have. Thanks-in-advance!!!

Thinking this is not early 1900s, but mid-century. Looks like a tourist piece.

Thank you for your info! That is interesting. So these types of pieces were hand made for tourists coming through various countries. I think she did say Thailand possibly. Does that mean it isn't of any value to others ... just a one-of-kind personal souvenir?

I think you are right Ghopper !!

Cruzzin, there are many collectors of elephant "thingys" and your table would be valuable to them.
Remember, it was a cherished item in your friend's family for many, many years.

Yes, there are many people who collect elephant related items !!

Mid century has been big for years, not to mention that there are, indeed, elephant lovers out there. I would say this table has definite value, although I couldn't give it a monetary value.

I have to agree with the rest of the forum that it is mid century in style. Resale value is dependent upon the area you live in.
