Hi,
I just bought this figurine yesterday. As far as I can find out it is by Gabriel Fourmaintraux in Desvres France.
I first thought it was a Madona and child but the sailboat threw me off. I am also interested in what the age of this is. I think the factory produced items into the late 1990's.
It is about 7 1/2" tall and is wide compared to the thickness front to back. Only the baby has arms.
Thanks in advance for any information.

I think the sailboat is meant as a toy !! This may be a gift for someone who had a baby boy !! Its odd to me that the mothers dress is blue unless that was its intent !! This figurine is quite thin front to back but if included with a gift didn`t take up much space !!

i was just thinking a little girl with hat on, holding doll and toy boat!

Mmmm,,, A toy boat would have been right up my alley,,but not sure about most little girls !! I didn`t look at it like that !! Could be !! Almost looks like it should have another one back to back !!

I guess what is bugging me about this is the "HJH" on the back.....

I couldn`t find anything on that !! I am curious too but that could be the mfr.of the glass blanks and just the decoration done by the Fourmaintraux studio !!

That is exactly what I was thinking! But I thought the studio made their own! Couldn't find where this studio was ever "duplicated".

I thought it might be a Haviland mark !! They used several and had subsidiaries !! They sold a lot of blanks to decorating studios !!
