The only thing I know about this rug is that I like it! It measures 55" by 35". It exhibits some wear and fading. It's quite soft on the top side. The stiching that attaches the fringe at both ends looks like it may have been done by hand. Can anyone tell me what I have?

I like it too! The softness on the upper part of the rug may be due to silk being woven in. Sorry, I'm not enough of an expert to tell you any more.

Can we see a close up of the stitching you are talking about ?? My first impression (and I am no expert so take it with a grain of salt) is that its a Turkish rug made for the tourist trade !!
-
ALSO, please post a picture of the back side - full view and up close to back and knotting on the ends!
Thanks!

Some of the design looks Turkish, Armenian

My camera (on my phone) is not good, bit it's all I have. The detail may not be good enough.

Hi Skinny,
From the back of this rug, it looks machine made.

I agree,, machine made !!

Yeah, i'm sure ya'll are right. It's a good fake rug though, and I only paid $30. I'll still probably hang it on a wall instead of walking on it.

That soft, worn, and warm look would look great in any room with vintage furniture !! Good buy !!

Skinny, it is a "real" rug, just not a super expensive rug! You did good on the pricing. The main thing is that you enjoy it!

Remember not everything has to be worth a lot of money to be good !! If that were the case my house would be empty !!
