Title: Advice on Painted table Druce and company
Post by: Vintagehoneyboo on June 09, 2016, 12:14:43 PM
Hi
Today I bought a table which had been painted quite badly. Underneath it has a Druce and company plaque. I know they are 19th century cabinet makers, so would it be worth my while restoring it? Was planning on doing a better paint job but not sure now.

I'd restore it back to its original appearance, but that's me. Are you going to keep the table or sell it?

Then it might be easier to stress the paint a bit and sell it as "shabby chic."

There, I said it.

I agree.  Distress it (age it with a slight wash) and it should do well!
