Hi, this is professionally framed and should be in mint condition. It is a beautiful portrait but have no idea of value. Apparently way back when, Indian Chiefs would pose for photographs at circuses and then artists would draw/paint their portraits. That is my understanding anyway and it could be totally off the mark.
There is not a lot online about John S Perry, but I think his work is amazing and I hope you enjoy the pictures and I would appreciate any information. Thanks in advance.

This site offers a one day pass to view auction selling prices for $9.99 and has several of his works. One looks a lot like yours. It could be of value to you to determine the price range yours would be in.

I have no idea which response I am replying to so please bear with me. This was given to my Grandmother a few decades ago by a friend she was taking care of. The information about the subject of the portrait is written on the back of the framing paper by the woman who gave it to her. The other info came from a museum but I cannot recall which one, sorry. It is incredibly well done and the photos here do not do it justice.
Thanks so much for your responses :)
