I have seen them before but can not remember their use !! Seems like they were liners for a frozen desert dish !! Or am I thinking wrong ??

I don't think you're wrong. These pieces look like they're designed to sit in cradles, probably metal. Dessert compotes?

Do not know why but frozen sherbet comes to mind when I look at them !! I think you are right about the metal/silver stands or cradles !!

My first reaction is glass liners for shrimp cocktails!
They were usually placed in glass etched glasses (that is why most people don't realize they go together!)
