If you had a small ceramic vase or a nice litttle plate from the late 50's - mid 60's and it had no maker's mark on it what-so-ever would you assume it's a generic piece sold in 5 & Dimes or similar places?
-
Seems reasonable, but it would be better if you could post a picture or two!
-
Don`t knock those little pieces from Five and Dime stores !! Many are in the collectible area now !! Would help to see them !!
-
Yes all the above. Love the see the pics!
-
You want pictures, you say???
OH. mygod
I'm trying to go through 70+ yrs of "STUFF" to get ready for an Estate Sale.
Also, I'm doing this one handed from a wheelchair with only part-time help.
>_<
hahahaha
I'll get back to you.
:D

So sorry for your challenges. Unfortunately we are not able to even begin to help without a picture. It can make a BIG difference from little worth to great worth monetarily. Wishing you the best!
-
Anything we can do to help,,other than asking for pics ??
-
hahaha
Yer gonna bee sorry yew asked fer pics.
Item #1 up for bids is a cute little *something* about 4.5" high.
The green looks a tad washed out from the sunlight glare but it's real purdy.
(I have about 7 or 8 more items to post and ask about.)
-
Item #2 is teeny.
It's only 1.75" high.
-
Item #3 is a cute little ginger jar 6" high.
It once had gold color around the inside of the rim.
-
Item #4 is a cream colored bowl with handles.
The pale blue-ish color around the bottom also tints the 2 handles.
4" high
-
Item #1 looks like it could be a celery glass or a celery vase!
Item #2 The green glass item is either a footed master salt or a footed sugar packet holder. Would be interested if it is Vaseline Glass. If you have access to a black light you should check it out!
Item #4 looks like a sugar bowl!
-
The first one looks like maybe an individual parfait server to me !! Last one looks like typical Homer Loughlin pattern !! Both popular 1950`s and 60`s !!
-
I showed item #1 to an elderly neighbor and she thought maybe it was a cigarette holder.
Apparently in the 40s and 50s it was popular to set out cigarettes and a table lighter on an end table or coffee table.
I had a great-aunt that would have done that.
:D
I'll have to research "celery glass" and Vaseline glass" to see what you all are talking about.
Too bad my black light from the 70s is long gone.
haha
THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Thats true,, smoking was a social event back then !!
-
and we have a winner!!!!!!!!!!
Item #2 is a salt holder
No wonder I couldn't find anything in my searches.
I never heard of such a thing.

This is the closest I could find on item #1.
Seems it IS a tabletop cigarette holder/ashtray.

Yes, do agree about the cigarette piece. Couldn't tell from the picture until I blew it up just them that the base had a curve to it/bowl effect.
You don't even want to begin to know all the service pieces they have made for each and every food, chore, etc. It will blow your mind!
I still wish I had my black lights from the 60's/70's. You could buy black light poster paint and we would paint our own posters! :)
A celery glass or celery vase was a stemmed glass that was used to serve celery sticks. They can get very valuable! Vaseline glass is glass that was made using uranium and it glows an eerie/pretty green under a black light! It would make the same piece a little more valuable than green glass.
