Title: vintage teapot
Post by: Raven31557 on August 21, 2016, 03:36:08 PM
I have this beautiful teapot in perfect condition, but the only "mark" is a rose on the bottom.
It's approx. 7" high, give or take a skosch or two.
Hard to be accurate with the handle.

The other day KC gave us a little tutorial about pots:

A chocolate pot spout originates at the top of the pot.  You will find some from different countries that are at the bottom but they are usually graceful and flowing/curving whereas coffee pot spouts are straight and originate at the bottom.  Tea pots are shorter and the spouts typically start mid pot and may have screens built in.

I wonder what the inside looks like and where the spout starts?  I have no idea on price but I like the design.

It is a smaller chocolate pot.  I had to look at the sizing real closely because they did make some larger cream pitchers that also resemble this style.

To Pelady......
The inside is VERY clean, just a faint brownish/grayish stain ringing the bottom.
The spout starts at the very top and is only about 1.5" long.

Hi Raven,

With your description, I would concur that it is a chocolate pot.  I don't know the
Company or value sorry.

Yeah, I can't find anything exactly like it on line, so I'll just tag it at $50.00 and see what happens.

I like it! Yeah, nothing beat a try but failure, the worst that can happen is no one is biting so you lower the price.
