Title: WH&SBP HardSoldered Tray - Looking for my information
Post by: ivankoapproved on August 27, 2016, 10:19:23 AM
Can anyone help with the year of this tray, how it's made, what it's made of, etc.

Has the markings:

WH & SBP
HARDSOLDERED

Those are the only markings I found on the tray.  Very heavy...weighs around 8-9lbs.

Thank you in advance for all your help.

Looks like William Hutton & Sons   England.  If you scroll down this page you will see the mark under silver plate:

Here is another site with information on William Hutton & Sons in addition to the one Pelady listed above:

What is the size of your piece?

Thank you all for the great info.  It measures 20" x 20" from one flat edge to it's opposite and weighs in around 8lbs.

Is this something of a rarity or just your run of the mill serving tray?

Again thank you all for your research.

This tray was one that was for use on the table or buffet and not one that you walked around serving treats from.  The weight dictates that and that fact that it has those little feet.
