First, the "ugly lamp".
My grandparents bought this lamp, but I don't know when.
It's gotta be pre 1960 b/c I always remember this lamp being there.
(31557 is not my ZIP code) hahaha
Everyone in my family hated this lamp, so I grabbed it. I think it's, ummmmm, unique.
The vases . . .
The taller one is 12" high.
The shorter broken one is 10.5" high.
Only the broken one has a marker's mark - if that's what it is.
I really wish my relatives would save the broken off piecets of stuff.

Weird but I like that lamp !! Is there no mark on the bottom ?? A foundry mark ?? Are those dolphins I see on the metal base ??
I guess the marked one is the broken one ?? Never mind the last question,, just re-read the post !! I do not know the mark but Ipcress or Mat might !!

Yep, dolphins.
Nope, no marks at all. :-\
The lamp is all painted metal.
My neighbor heard the story of the "ugly lamp" and she wanted to see it.
She liked it, too, and said, "Maybe with a new shade..."
I had to tell her, "Ummmm, I just bought that shade."
LOL!!!
To each their own.

If the electric socket has not een replaced there may be a name on it that will help with the date !! Did you look at the underneath really good and around the outside of the base ?? Might even use a magnifying glass !!

:o
lol
I remember covering the base with felt about 25 yrs ago.
I'll have a look at it.
I know the switch and electrical cord were replaced about 30 yrs ago when my brother was briefly in possession of it.

The decorations on your lamp base is what some refer to as “busy”. ;D ;D
Anyway, me thinks your lamp needs to be researched more simply because it doesn’t appear to me, from what I can see, to be a “cheap” import or whatever that was purchased at one of the F W Woolworth's Five & Dime stores.

I agree with cogar...not the "five and dime" variety!
Can you tell what kind of metal the lamp is made from? Is it painted or enameled?
-
Looks enameled to me !!
