Title: Oskar J W Hansen sterling silver pin

I am a coin dealer who will buy scrap silver and gold and I bought this fish pin on a walk in. I tried and do some research and turns on the designer is somewhere famous I guess and maybe this fish is somewhat rare I did see somewhere it said one sold in auction in 2011 for $263 but I honestly could not find out much about it. Is this rare ? is it worth anything ? where would I sell it ebay ? thank you all very much....

I did find a signed Hansen silver fish:

Although it's also marked with Hansen's name and is sterling, this one is a bit different than yours.

Other Hansen pins I've seen have been priced at $100-$200.

Saw that one as well Mart and it is much more ornate.

He had a very varied career of sculpture, writing... Interesting fella'.

That's a thought, but you might want to also establish a reserve, to protect yourself.

Me as well!   However, it is for sale under that number - just the link above won't pull it up!  Just put in the number in the search!  :)

I would definitely put a reserve.  From the pricing on Hansen I would expect that!

it is the only Oskar Hansen pin on ebay anyway not hard to find ;) I hope I get some bids no clue we will see.

I am usually skeptical of people putting RARE on their Ebay Item Descriptions because it is so over-used by people trying to snag a sale.  HOWEVER, yours truly merits the title!  Best of luck!
