Title: Cooper Oil Co. Thermometer
Post by: weazelm27 on October 26, 2016, 10:55:13 AM
I have had this thermometer for a few years now with not knowing if it is worth anything, or knowing really anything about it other then what is shown on it. I know it is old from the fact that the shown phone number is only 5 digits. If anyone could give me any information on it such as value and back ground on it.

Thank you.

With a 7-digit phone number, this metal thermometer probably dates from pre 1970. I couldn't find one from the Cooper Oil Company specifically, but my guess is that this would be worth in the neighborhood of $20-$30. Earlier ceramic ones are worth more.

P.S. my parents phone number in the 1960s was ENdicott 22001.

Actually the phone number has 7 digits !!  Until the late 60`s thats how they were identified !!  The first two letters of FIeldstone were used !!  My phone back then was ATlantic 5 6409  Or AT5-6409 !!
My guess is that your thermometer,,because its a small local company would bring between $30. and $40. !!  It might be better to call the company and see if they would be interested in it !!  They are still in business !!
