Hi everyone, My hubby has been building a property in center city Philadelphia. He brought this home for me today. A doctor bought the property. The house was originally built in the 1700's, but was redone in the 1800's. I'm assuming the birdbath is the 1800's. I'm guessing $150. from what I see.

My new phone. How do you straighten the photo?

Its fine when enlarged !! Looks like mid 1800`s Victorian !! Is it cast iron ?? Better look at the above prices !!
-
Hi mart, yes it's cast iron. I love it! My husband kept asking the doctor. The doctor finally said take!
-
Prices are a bit higher than $150.
-
Here ya go.
LOVE that birdbath!
-
Thank you Raven!

Mmmm,, Guess this one is modern but same birdbath !! Only difference is this one the top is cast aluminum and bottom is cast iron !! Could find a price but I didn`t register either !!
-
Yes, I saw this. There are others. I think best $175. from what I see. I happen to have the perfect spot for it!
-
I would not sell it for $175. !! Just put water in it and watch the birds !!
-
Love it! In my neck of the woods a true Victorian piece would sell for $90 - $150 depending on condition.
-
KC, I agree. It's already found a new home, lol.
-
Great! I personally would have kept it! :)
-
I did. The new home is my house! 😄
-
The new home is my house!
BUT, but, ....... the birds won't come into your house to take their bath. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
You are quick on the draw today cogar! LOL 😄
-
Bad weather still. As soon as things dry up. It will be perfectly placed. 😁

Greenacres, while I was keying in my silly comment …… I wasa thinking, …… if that birdbath was wire brushed and painted ……. and plastic or rubber soles applied to the base, …… it would make for a really great looking “fern stand” no matter where you placed it ….. inside or outside your home. And decorative cast iron “fern stands” are not cheap.

Good idea!
-
Very nice looking fern stand! (Most people don't even know that is what they are and think they are some sort of accent table!)
-
Interesting idea! One problem I kill indoor plants. I love other people's plants. ☺️ I'm good with outdoor plants. Thank goodness for Mother Nature! I course outside in summer for plants maybe.
-
We are going to draft Cogar to "Interior Design Expert" !! I think that is a great idea !! Just put a big ole`pot of ivy in it !! That stuff is hard to kill !!
-
HA, I've been meaning to tell ya, ....…. me thinks the above picture of a ”fern stand for sale” …. is in fact a repurposed “birdbath”,
The “seahorse” figures at the top of each leg is the obvious clue for confirmation.
-
Cogar, I enlarged the pics and they don't appear to be seahorses...they appear to be griffins! Could even be dolphins - as you recall both have been prominent in wood carved pieces and iron pieces before and during Victorian times. Bradley & Hubbard made many plant stands with the griffins that are very collectible!
In fact, view these...
