Hello,
I have been trying to research these for weeks but am not able to find anything like them. I am assuming they are antique... They both are hand painted, the metal is thin, I think its tin and look like folk art. There is a moon with a face that has a dangling earring and a woman that also has a dangling earring. My first thought was that they were bottle hanging tags or labels. the back has alot of greening from age? Any help or thoughts would be very much appreciated. I tried putting these on the ebay boards but haven't gotten any response.

sorry listed this twice in the forum....

Looks like sheet brass !! Tin would not have that green verdigris on the back !! Have you tried these to see how they look on a standard wine bottle ?? Something tells me that is not what they were intended for !! Not sure but these decorative hang tags are a fairly modern concept I think !!

Thanks Mart!

Wait and see what others say !! I really have no clue about these !!

No clue Mart. It doesn't look that old to me from the pictures/quality that I can see.

Not old; in fact, they look contemporary. The "greening" on the backs was applied.

thanks everyone! I guess that's why I couldn't find anything on them...

You're certainly welcome. Sorry the news wasn't better.

Me too! However, jewelry and decor with the moon was very popular during Victorian times. I even tried my darnedest to see if it could have possible been for a chatelaine of sorts...but no.
