Look at this mark and see if it looks like Japanese or Chinese characters !! I do not think it does but can not figure what it does say !! Almost looks like Italy but spelled as Itali !! Opinions please !!
Beautiful glassware !!

Doesn't look Japanese/Chinese to me either.
Looks like someone took artistic flair.
When I first looked at it seemed like "Itali" in an artistic way!

When you turn the mark 90 degree to the right it becomes a Japanese one! I am not sure how to read it, the upper character is yama or san, the second one maybe migi or yu, so maybe Yamamigi, Yamayu or Sanyu? The decoration is Japanese and the date 1950s should be right...

I may be wrong about the reading of the first character, I wil try to find out more later...

Thanks folks !! Will check back later !! One thing I know about it,,I checked all the different pieces and the name is identical on all items so its a stamp rather than hand signed !! Like a factory stamp !!

Well I'm amazed if that is a Japanese/Chinese mark...I looked at the pic on it's side and it does bear the resemblance of some marks!
Good call Mat!
