Nice pastel work !!  Are both signed ??  If so post the signature on the other one too !!  Sometimes letters look different on 2 different pieces of artwork !!

Ha ha. In light of recent events, that's a poignant statement. ;)

You'll often see these described as graphite / charcoal and body colour or " heightened white "

Not sure on the sig, yet. Possibly cyrillic.

They're alright, a bit dated.

Maybe a story drawing ? Like the chapel and the horse with a body on it crossing the water ?

Definitely telling the plight/journey/struggle.  Nicely done!

The signature looks like it could be:
L Crofias
L Crofas
L Cropas

I keep getting a biblical feeling from them !!  Although not typical as  we see in the bible,,perhaps someones own vision !!

Mart, I did too when at first, because of the mother/child.  However, the snow, horses, and a man's body being carried on horseback...not so much.  Note the cross on the top of the "hut" with the mother/baby riding in the background and then mom holding baby with what appears to be three wise men?  Sort of like the Alpha and Omega, beginning and end of earthly life and then eternity.
