Title: Imari dish/plate
Post by: maa1247 on March 30, 2017, 12:49:54 PM
Estate find: 2 dishes/plates that I think are Imari - how can I tell - scalloped edges, bues, rust, floral, gold borders and filling. One of the dishes has a mark - kind of hidden (see pic).  There is no hallmark on bottom - only where a sticker had been. Any pros out there that may know?  Thank you

The dish/plates are 5 1/2" in diameter and 1" high.  The mark looks like a scribble - pic attached and a circle drawn around it.  Thank you

Hi, that is not a mark but just part of the design. Could you post a sharp picture of the central part of the plate? That would help to understand how old it is...

Thank you, the colours and the fact that part of the decoration is printed make me think that your plates are 20th c, I tend to believe 2nd half.
