Title: Anri Italy Wood Carving Bar Set
Post by: maa1247 on March 31, 2017, 05:30:35 PM
Would anyone know if the attached hand carved wood bar set - opener and corkscrew - man - lightpole is Anri? This one does not have a music box and does not have Anri Italy carved on bottom.  Thank you

Hello Maa,

It looks like Anri.  Possibly 1950s.   They are still in operation and have a web site:

They will also answer question if you post to their Facebook page.

Thank you - my husband keeps this in his "man cave".

I LOVE ANRI CARVINGS!  Have a few myself.  I find it so fascinating that these wooden pieces are carved and painted even more intricately than Hummels!

Many early ANRI's were not marked however newer ones are.  There are many that try and pass themselves off as ANRI.  So, it is wise to try and figure out if it is or not.  Your carving doesn't look as intricate as I would normally see.

The most collectible in value are the older ones. However, they are still loved and collected - even the newer ones.  Have a friend who has a ginormous collection of ANRI mechanical wooden cork/bottle stoppers.
