I do not think they are scale weights ....... but they might be counter weights.

Thanks for taking a look Cogar !!  I do not know how to describe them to do a search !!  They were found by different people at different home sites !!  I can`t even think of anything used around a home or farm that is similar !!

I have to think that the round "peg" would fit into a hole of some object? Almost looks similar to a "bunion button" for a shoe stretcher?  I'll try to do some more thinking later.

Thanks Rauville !!  I keep thinking wagon or buggy parts or even an old car part !!  But that may be totally wrong !!  He said it appears to be brass !!

I don't know why I keep thinking of leather burnishing.....or wood working.

Could it be a variation of these block planes??

KC,

I think you are on the right path with leather working tools.  These leather working tools have similar posts on them.

Yup, I believe that Rauville got it started with the 1st clue about “shoe leather” and then Pelady tracking them down to be “leather working” tools.

Which would explain why they were made of brass and were found in the remains at different house sites.

My dad had one of these, an iron "shoe last" for repairing our shoes.
