It's an old, large whisky bottle ( almost two feet high )
Given a translucent blue ground , then painted with an angelic maiden clasping her robes, greek key borders on the bottle body, the neck with a lattice work of miniature red and blue panels.
What do you think it's worth ?
-
Do you know how old "old" is? And is the painting contemporary to the bottle?
-
It was painted around 30 years ago. The bottle is older but obviously not an antique.
-
I'll go out on a limb here and say $50-$75, possibly more on the right day, in the midwestern U.S. It's the kind of item that has broad appeal, including to younger folks who don't care about antiques.

What is embossed on the bottle itself ?? Are you sure its painted on and not a decal ?? Those lines in the robe would indicate a decal to me !! Of course the pic is not very close !!
-
Looked a little closer and the greek key pattern and the lines behind the woman look to be done with the tube paints that can be oven fired on !! Ghopper is about right at $50. !! Call it a folk art piece and price goes up !!
I think I posted on both of these !! Maybe KC can combine them !!
-
Mart, merged them together!
it reads "Bell Scotch Whiskey"
Upcycled bottles that are painted are back in popularity. ghopper1924 has the price range right!
-
Thanks KC !! Doesn`t that look like those craft type paints for glass to you ??
-
Hard to tell from the pictures but definitely added.
Reminds me of the faux stained glass that became popular in the late 70's to 80's and is now making a resurgence
