Wow. And here I've been hearing about how Jean-Michel Basquiat had gone out of fashion. Not with everybody!
-
THAT sold for $110.5 million??
Looks like something a 6 yr old would draw in a therapy session to illustrate his nightmares.
Good Lord!!
I don't know art but I know what I don't like.
LOL!

Mmm,, I could do that in about 15 minutes !!

LOL, yeah, people say that about many modern artists, Picasso comes to mind but, i have a feeling it's not that easy to do.

Well, look at these 2 paintings by Picasso, the first one in 1897 when he was 15 years old. As is obvious, Picasso was classically trained at a young age but he moved on to Cubism which is the style he is known for. The second painting, "Women of Algiers" sold in 2015 for 176 million and is considered a Picasso masterpiece.

Only thing Women oof Algiers shows me is that Picasso was obsessed with womens breasts !! Not just in the figure but look throughout the painting !! He puts them everywhere !! ;D
-
lol, well, he was "obsessed" with the human figure, no doubt about that, it's all he ever painted.
-
It's easy to look at a piece of modern art and think "I could do that". And truthfully, some of us could. But someone else did it first, and someone else is famous and we aren't.
-
And there lies the problem, Rauville !! ;D

Hey, Remember Grandma Moses! She didn't start painting until she was 80? years old and her stuff hangs in museums! It could happen!
-
Thats true !! I did one painting in a folk art style that did well at local shows !! But here in NE Texas if it isn`t bluebonnets, trees or old barns you are out of the loop !!
