I recently purchased this vase for $4. I don't imagine it's a real antique, but it looks like a nice copy of something Chinese? It looks like a dragon and a fish? I was wondering if anyone knows what period/style of vase this is ment to be. Thanks, and happy Memorial Day

The bottom, no marks

Shows to have some age !! Let Mat or Ipcress look at it !!

I would think it is Chinese celadon, but not very old...

For those like me,, "not very old" means sometime in the 20th century ?? I looked at several similar celadon vases yesterday !!

Yes, that was what I meant, and I guess rather 2nd half, but these are difficult to date...

Thanks for your replys, I've got a better idea what I have now

It's hard to say that it is old...because this has a crackle on it and it could have been artificially made (not from age).
Beautiful pieces but bountiful in China and S Korea.

There is a Chinese folk tale behind the dragon and fish image !! As legend goes,, the carp migrated up the Yellow River to the waterfall !! Try as they might they could not get over the waterfall !! Some got so close that demons raised the waterfall even higher !! Finally after all the other fish had given up one carp made it over the fall !! He was rewarded by turning him into a golden Dragon !!
