Title: Pier Mirror Replacement Value?
Post by: ghopper1924 on August 28, 2017, 10:55:34 AM
Hey folks:

I just acquired this from a St. Louis, MO estate. It's 100" tall, made of walnut and gilt with age-darkened burl panels. It's in superb condition. Probably made ca. 1875 in Illinois, Michigan or Ohio.

I think replacement value should be around $1200. What say you?

Thanks. Various folks are telling me $600-$900 replacement, but that seems low. I might expect to sell it for that in Missouri, but if I needed to buy a replacement the most similar ones on E-Bay are $1K-$1200. Hmmmm......

Selling value and replacement value can be dollars different !!  Selling value means can you buy  another pier mirror !!  Replacement means can you replace this one you have with a similar one of the same age, quality, condition ect !!   I agree with you Ghopper !!
