Title: Long time...no see
Post by: kathyv43 on February 03, 2018, 01:19:47 PM
Hi guys...it's been a while. Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
I have an elderly friend (80ish) who has given a lot of her furniture to children, but has more she is selling/giving away. Some antiques from her parents and grandparents, some vintage. I am going to post a few things, will have more later (my son has to go get out of various buildings so I can take pics).
She has several of the trunks similar to the one I am posting. They all have 2-3 separate compartments.
Any info and value on the ones' I am posting would be much appreciated.

Hi Kathy:

The tables seem to be standard conservative mid-century hardwood of the Duncan Phyfe revival type. Unfortunately, brown furniture (of which I'm a big fan) is way out of fashion now. These tables are vintage rather than antique, so you might find a market for them because of millennial interest in mid 20th century, but I wouldn't look for much more than $30-$40 for them. At least that's what they'd sell for here in the U.S. midwest, on a good day.

Thanks. I thought the tables were vintage also. I am posting some more things, but still I think the better of the bunch that she has left is in storage buildings. I plan on getting pics of them next weekend.

Agree with Ghopper !!  Back in the 1970`s and 80`s would have brought more but out of fashion today !!
