Hello everyone,
I have this small clear swan. I am wondering what the significance of this item is? It has a little bit of weight to it so one possibility would be a paper weight. Is it glass or crystal? If anyone has any information it would be greatly appreciated! :)

Could be a paperweight !! Back in the 40`s and 50`s they made a lot of decorative items like swans !! My grandmother had a powder box made of clear glass in a swan shape !! You can try the same way other crystal items are checked !! Just sit it on a table and use the handle of a spoon or anything similar and lightly tap below the neck of the swan,,the neck could snap off so not there,, Crystal will ring clear like a bell,,glass will be more of a dull thud !!

Like Mart said these were very popular during 40's, 50's and even into the 60's.
If you search "vintage glass swan paperweight" you will see quite a few made like yours. More often they were made with a mix of colored glass.
Depending on where you live they sell from between $4 - $10

Thank you MART & KC! :)
I tried the tap test. Sounds like dull glass to me! ;)
