Any info on this Turkey Platter I came across. Something is written on the back but I can not read it. Also, not sure what this is made of. It remind me of terra cotta or some type clay. Any Help would be wonderful.

This is small isn`t it ?? I mean not a platter you would use at the table ?? Looks like it says Minnesota on the back !! May be a souvenir Item !!

19" long about.

Mmmm,, is the front raised and textured ?? Is it a wall hanger ?? Lot of similar items were made of terracotta in the 70`s !! But most were just decorative !! Not meant to be used at the table !!

In the 15th century, Spanish Conquistadors took Aztec turkeys back to Europe. Turkey was eaten as such as early as the 16th century in England.
And potteries have been producing “turkey” themed plates and platters, for sure, since the early 1800’s, ….. and they still are, so “click” below and choose your favorite.
