I've been trying for a few years to identify this couch... with it's wooden cabinets for arms, iron spring\burlap underbelly, and old-school slotted screws. Sure is pretty. Anyone know what the style is, or some information that might lead me to proper identification? The only markings on it are a number 10, written in pencil, somewhat calligraphically. Apologies for a lack of photo re: the latter.

Never seen one like it. My guess would be mid 20th century. Cool!

Pretty typical 1940`s styling,, but have not seen another like this either,,that doesn`t surprise me !! If I were betting,, it did not sell well and was discontinued by the Mfr. I would think it isn`t too comfortable to sit on but you can correct me if I am wrong !! Furniture was rarely if ever marked !! Some did use stickers and string tags and most of those were short lived once the furniture was in someones home !!
Let me look around tomorrow and see if I can get a line on the Mfr !! But don`t hold your breath !! Later with the use of the remote control several did have built in storage of various types !!
Do you mind giving your location and how you came by this sofa ??

This isn't typical mid century styling but seems a combination of styles. Betting early 1900's.
In mid century styling they tried to incorporate side tables but the style much more often resembled this:

To me, it looks as if the manufacturer also built bedroom sets and used components from those to put this example together. (Or maybe someone just decided to recycle? ;))

I really wish I could see this one in person/hands on to see if it is a "married" piece. Very odd that there would be locks on the doors. Aren't the legs in the Queen Anne style?!

Here is a very similar Queen Anne style cabinet sofa described as:
English, early 20th century, the upholstered sofa suspended between an integral pair of locking end cabinets on cabriole legs, 38"H x 82.25"W x 28"D.

"on other forum, no one could ID it"
I'm not surprised...... :-X

SophieMarie, you outdid yourself! Point to you!
These must not have been made in large supply because even coming up with more information does not bring up any more.

I'm not surprised...... :-X
LOL, ghopper couldn't resist! It's ok over there, a lot more traffic but little in the way of stuff i collect, same as here.

I would bet this one was not made in the twenties !!

I agree with Mart's original assessment on the date. 1940s. What a difference 10 years made!
