Title: Charles V.Gridley USN,Silk Drawing Commander US Flag Navel Battle At Manila

Maybe some one can help me.I bought out an attic of old items and found this framed drawing on silk cloth,measure 20"x20".I have no idea what it is,but it is old.

Not sure of the size of your item But I think they are called SILK portrait  KERCHIEFs.  Here is a link with a few political kerchiefs or banners.

Yes, Pelady is right, they were made as souvenir handkerchiefs.
