I'm off and running on a project I've put off and put off too long. Getting rid of our son's old bottle collection. He doesn't want to be bothered with it and it's just sitting there taking up room we need. I've been trying to get a value on individual bottles by looking at them on Ebay and seeing what they bring. Have found that being 100+ years old doesn't make them valuable.
I have this bottle made of pottery about nine inches tall and four inches at the widest point. Weighs a whopping two and a half pounds. No names on it except a little oval stamp, looks like impressed into the clay when soft, with the name "C. McIntyre and that's all I can make out. He had one other of these in damaged condition with a Dublin address on it. That's all I know and can't seem to find anything on Ebay but I'm sure there must be.
Are these worth anything at all? Thanks for any opinions. Jon

From the shape I am guessing Ginger Beer !! A popular and common drink 18 and early 1900`s !!

Here's a similar one. Like you say; being old doesn't mean much in regard to value.

Mart, yes, Ginger Beer was the term I was trying to dredge up but couldn't.
Rauville, that about wraps it up. Interesting, mine also has the No.1 on it. also interesting was the background on the making of these bottles. Obviously there are a lot of them around and price goes for under $20. So off it goes to the Goodwill Store or the upcoming Church Basement Sale.
Thanks to both of you.

Jondar.. you might think about helping whoever buys the bottle from the Goodwill !! Write the info about the bottle on a small piece of paper and tape it to the bottom !! Could spark someones interest !!

Mart - (chuckle) The very words my wife used this morning. She said, "Why don't you write down what you know about that bottle and tape it to the bottle? Those ladies won't know anything about those bottles."! Good ides thanks to both of you. I know I certainly learned a lot about that bottle!
