I bought this piece a while back at an antique store. It's an embroidered cloth that someone has wrapped around a piece of cardboard and put into a frame. I thought at first it was probably just a mass produced cloth, but now I think that maybe it actually is handmade? Anyone know who might have made it and what it is?

Picture from the back. For whatever reason, it's turned these last two pictures sideways

Pretty sure its not Native American !! Just has some similar images !! Look at the figures,, they did not wear skirts,, have never seen skirts on modern ones !! Border and other images are just similar !! The bird figure is not traditional !!

Yeah, I don't know, i've come across other figures wearing skirts just like that in Navajo textiles.

Post a link,, I haven`t seen any !! In fact women were rarely pictured in the ones I have seen !!

Alas, I can't find any of the ones I was looking at earlier that I thought were the most similar. They're called Yei Dancers I think. Just Google Yei Dancers and look at the images page. They're often depicted with very long torsos, but not always.

Mm,, May be !! Those are the first I have ever seen !!
