Hey all:
Found a Tiffany art glass piece at auction yesterday. I think I got a pretty good deal on it, but can't find anything just like it online.
It's 10" tall by 7" wide.
As you can see, it's Favrille iridescent glass with "L.C.T." etched (lightly) on the bottom.
I think it was made between the 1880s and 1930s, but you may know more.
So, a couple of questions:
When do YOU think it was made?
How much would a good price be for this? How about insurance?

I think “buyer beware”.
This mark, specifically the L.C.T., has been faked many times by those trying to fool unsuspecting buyers into thinking another type of iridescent glass is actually Tiffany. It is wise to examine the piece closely in all aspects before making a purchase.

It turns out that you, Cogar, are absolutely correct.
It was misrepresented in print and on the internet as a Tiffany. I think the auction company and the owners both truly believed it.
BUT....I posted it on the "other" site, and was quickly shown that it's a Rindskopf, not a Tiffany.
I called the auctioneer, who demonstrated excellent customer service and voided the check immediately. We go back a ways.
Yes, it was a "teaching moment," and I'm super grateful to have access to knowledgeable folks.
So....money back, and everyone the wiser.
PS. I actually like the piece a lot, but buying the name was part of it as well.

There is a girl that worked for a man named Bob Ogoreck. He dealt in Tiffany and sold world wide for many years. Now this was a long time ago! She is highly knowledgeable in Tiffany. She currently has studios and sells on ebay. Her name is Gwen. I have not talked with her in many years as we were more acquaintances through a friend. If all else fails, she may be able to help you. I like the vase as well even though it is not Tiffany !! Maybe get a reduced price if you really like it ??

I like it too, Mart! Alot! But I think I'd rather save up again and take another stab at a Tiffany one of these days.

Everybody needs a Tiffany vase, and I hope you find a good example. I "found" one back in 1955. My folks had the task of cleaning out my reclusive Great Uncle's home. One of his habits was living with cats which he fed Borden's Condensed Milk. Behind the house was what seemed like a mountain of empty milk tins, and mixed in was a signed "Tiffany Furnaces" Jack in the Pulpit vase. It turned out to be totally undamaged and was a beautiful piece that even at that young age I recognized as being something very special. Once again...good luck in your hunt.
