Title: A wristwatch named "Oyster"
Post by: cogar on January 29, 2020, 08:07:37 AM
'Antiques Roadshow' guest floored by worth of Rolex he paid $346 for in 1974

The word "Oyster" inscribed on the watch is “extremely, extremely rare,”

it could appraise for between $500,000 to $700,000.

That news would knock anyone to the floor. (I've worn a plain old model everyday for decades. The only smart thing I've done is kept the box and papers. ::))

I have an old Timex, woman's watch, complete with guarantee, instructions, case, etc... Maybe it is worth 100's of thousands? No? Come on, it ends in "ex".  ;)

That is really great for him, though!
