Title: Antique dog doorstop
Post by: lleffler on April 04, 2020, 10:55:48 AM
Hello again, this is a cast iron dog doorstop with no markings. My father picks this up about 40ish years ago.....

These one-piece examples are usually smaller and meant to be decorative rather than functioning doorstops. The red rust is a bit worrying because it's usually associated with newer reproductions. The originals would be from the 1920s-1940s.

This has been on Antiques Road show or something similar. Try to find an episode of cast iron door stoppers on their shows list. After watching that episode and the worth, my mother hid hers, lol.
