Title: set of 4 Larkin #7 oak dining chairs - value?
Post by: ottoman68 on March 24, 2006, 09:44:24 PM
Hi all, Im brand new to this forum,

I have a question about value of some antique chairs.

I have a set of 4 Larkin #7 Quarter sawn oak dining chairs c. 1980-1900.

I've seen them advertised for $425 for just one: http://tinyurl.com/hdsrj (http://tinyurl.com/hdsrj)

but of course, they are an antique shop, so therefore they hike up the price by....what.....4 times? :)

I'd like to sell them but 2 of them will need some restoration (One simply has a rung broken off the chair leg, the other chair will need replacement rungs.)

All will need some screwhole plugs here and there. And all the chairs have these antique ""slip-on" Upholstered Seats (made by American Fibre Seat Corporation) rather than canned seats.

Its almost impossible to find info about Larkin furniture.

What do you think these might be worth as is? I would think a restorer or antique shop would love to grab them to restore.

thanks all

condition is everything. I would try for $50.00 dollars apiece.
