Title: Very old kitchen? knife
Post by: junie1051 on April 10, 2006, 10:46:10 AM
We recently came across what looks to be a hand-made knife...at least the handle appears to be.  ALLEGANY CUTLERY CO is stamped on the iron or carbon steel 5 3/4" blade.  It is a full tang knife.  The handle is wood and appears to be nailed onto the blade, but I don't think that can be right.  They just look like nailheads.  The shape is slightly curved upward at the tip...kind of machete-like, but, of course, much smaller.

Any idea about where I might learn more about this knife?
