Title: little r on my sterling

i have a set of s kirk and son sterling, after the name kirk sometimes it says co, sometime inc, i understand that,however after all of this on some of the pieces there  is a little r , what does this little r mean. thanks john carney, one more question, i cannot make out the pattern on my set, is there a web site,that i can look and try to find my pattern, iam not very artistic or i would draw you a pic, thanks again,john

lots of scrolling here.  If you can't find your pattern, I do believe they can work from photos - I don't know if the service is free - sterling silver is very valuable.            KB
