I am restoring an antique Craftsman Desk (Cadillac Co. circa 1910) and I need help on where I can find "pins or buttons." I am not sure of the correct terminology of these pieces of hardware but they are used to help hold the slats to the front and back of the shelves. The dimensions are approximately 1/2" x 1/2". Thank you.

I bet you could find a hobbiest blacksmith around that would make them for you. I'd be surprised if he wanted to charge you more than a couple dollars each.
and they would be true to form, one of a kind.
You will probably be able to find someone through your local ABANA chapter

Thanks for the lead. I never would have thought of that.

You can go on-line and order a catalog from Van Dykes Furniture Restorers. I only drop their name because I do furniture restoration and order from them. Back and shoulder surgery has me temporarily in front of the puter screen. They carry button nails and although might not be an exact match, you should be able to exchange theirs for yours, depending of course on how close you want the match. Their are probably other venues also available. Good luck on the restoration.
