Title: Unknown makers Mark... Please help!!
Post by: hvnsflnangel on April 08, 2007, 06:51:39 PM
I have recently come across a Tea/coffee set and i'm just confused and starting to get aggravated by not being able to find the maker of this mark.

The mark is of three shields. IN the first shield is the letter "M" ( looks like the M for Scorpio in horoscopes), the Second "M" ( may not even be an m) has maybe a twig or a fork in the middle where it connects. the last shield has a crown and the letter lowercase C. The crown could also be a w?

The photos i have enclosed are one i took directly from the piece with soot.

The other photo is a photo that a moderator from another forum enlarged for better viewing.
Any help finding the maker would be great!!

My set consists of the "claw feet" i was told is dating it to be in the late 1800's.  I have then found the first M to be a Make from the Sheffield England area to be dated at around 1794.

Within the next few days i plan on getting a battery for my camera and will upload a photo of the teaset so it will give somone a better look.

Thank you.....  I was told it was by a maker called ETON...

I called that dealer and they told me that those  MArks were on the teaset. But then my other question would be.. Who's ETON??
