Title: Wooden figurine lamp question

Hi folks,

I'm a first time visiter trying to find something about a lamp we found at a yard sale this week end.  It's a fat man holding up his pants.  He's wearing a hat and standing on a book.  The only markings on the entire lamp is a 'V" on the book.  He's bearded and has his pants tucked into his boots.  Anyone out there have any idea who this fellow is?
