Title: Old wood box Palio???

Hi All
 I'm brand new here, Found this forum trying to identify an old wooden box my wife bought at a garage sale yesterday. The box is about 2 feet long kinda hex shape, inside on each end are round indentions like some kind of spool went inside on the door is a single gold metal tag. It says Palio, any ideas? I'll be glad to email a photo of it... thanks for any help... Mark
