My mother bought this oak chest and she always told me that it was an ice box from a barbershop. I have no idea how it could be an ice box however, I did find a very small picture of a chest very similar to this one that is located behind a barber's chair in a replicated vintage barbershop. It has a marble slab on the top of the chest. Does anyone have any ideas?

It could be for soiled linens, {middle drawer}, and top drawer would be for razors. If this is the case, there should be a place where the strap to sharpen the razor has been attached on the side.{Screw Holes}.
