Title: crocks found at garage sale
Post by: allthingsprimitive on January 07, 2008, 11:53:40 PM
I found several crocks at a garage sale recently and have tried for hours to find any information on them on the internet. The first one is a two tone brown and cream butter crock that has no markings anywhere on the bottom or on the inside. There is a blue "3" printed on the white part of the crock and small handles on either side. The second one is a cream color with a crown and the number 3 inside the crown. I have seen several Robinson Ransbottom pieces with the same markings but can only find ones with the number 2 inside the crown. And lastly a small crock with one handle that is solid brown with the markings 11/2 USA on the bottom. It does not matter if they are antique or worth anything...I only paid $2 for each...just wanting some general info on the pieces.

the crown trademark, robinson ransbottom.the 3 simply mean's 3 quart or 3 gallon. depending on size.
no major chip's or crack's.$25.00 dollar's apiece
a few year's back country kitchen's were the vogue you could have doubled that price.
salt glazed crock's are still doing well.commonly known as blue& grey's.
