Title: marking on pitcher
Post by: Darlene on April 15, 2008, 09:54:35 PM
I have a small light blue pottery pitcher, perhaps a creamer.  The marking on the bottom looks like either a tea pot or a coffee pot with three words on the marking.  I cannot make the words out - perhaps tea party..something?  The creamer itself has a iridescent type finish.

Does anyone know anything about this marking or creamer ???

thanks so much

not sure, but it looks like the style a lot of McCoy pottery was done in

Darlene, you might try placing a piece of white printer paper on top of that "mark" and with a pencil held sideways ....... wipe it back n' forth across the "mark" with slight pressure and the raised portions of it will show up darker, which might help in reading the letters.

Well I guess I am the proud owner of a mystery!  :)

I tried the McCoy markings site and mine is not there.  I can't find it anywhere.  I tried making a pencil copy of it but the glaze is too thick...all the letters are basically smooth.

Thank you both for your input tho!

The marking is "The Pantry Parade".  I could not find anything but red tomato that's available, but now you know the maker..you can research it. Click below....
